There are 2 types of awards:
Your best 8 race results are counted and can include the ANSW 10 in May.
Age Group for the Series is based on age as of 30th June.
For each race points are awarded as follows:
1st place 100 points, 2nd 96 points, 3rd 93 points, 4th 91 points, 5th 90 points, reducing by 1 point for each position with a minimum of 2 points to be scored.
The handicap calculation is tried and true and has been in used by running clubs throughout the world for years. The handicap competition places are awarded based on how much quicker you race compared to your handicap time (expressed as a percentage).
Based on your race time your new handicap time will be calculated.
If you do not have a handicap time you will be at the bottom of the result table for that one race but will be awarded points. A handicap will be calculated for your next race.
There are 4 handicaps calculations:
In addition
At the end of the year everyone who has run a 10k that year gets 2% added to their handicap for the following year.
Anyone who has not finished a Striders 10k race in the past 2 years, is dropped from the handicap list and will need to start over.
Handicaps are updated after each race, the latest version is HERE.
